Costas, an uninspired soap opera writer struggling with writer’s block, is under pressure by his producer to deliver new episodes. Having just moved to a flat in an old apartment building, his attention is caught by his mysterious neighbors. Soon enough he finds himself spying on them, transforming their everyday tragic encounters into a light hearted soap opera, romanticizing what he witnesses for the consumption of a mass audience. As the success of the soap opera grows, so does Costas’ obsession with the family, particularly with Chryso, a young woman who frequently runs away from the family home. Slowly putting the different pieces together, her tragic life story starts to unravel in front of his eyes, an experience that forces Costas to deal with his own long-suppressed demons.

Director’s Note of Intent

A man torn between art and reality, in a microcosm that falters between multiple levels of guilt and denial. A microcosm that exists between the socially acceptable and the absurd; between the banal and the outrageous; between life behind hermetically closed doors and its sterile reflection onto the screen. A microcosm in an advanced state of decay calling the hero to intervene with any attempt to idealize it,  in vain. The only option left is confrontation. Only through it will he be freed from his own demons. A tough family drama with elements of existential comedy or vice versa.  More or less like life itself.
